Overview
Short version: Sweetive is a professional confectionery calculator. We collect minimal data — primarily your location for altitude correction — and we do not sell your personal information to any third party.
This Privacy Policy explains how Sweetive ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Sweetive iOS application. By using Sweetive, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Sweetive is designed as an offline-first tool. The vast majority of app functionality — calculations, recipes, stage references — requires no internet connection and no personal data.
Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide app functionality. Below is a complete summary:

We do not collect: names, email addresses, payment information, health data, browsing history, contacts, or any identifiable personal information beyond what is listed above.
Location Data
Why we use location
The boiling point of water — and therefore sugar syrup — varies with altitude. Sweetive uses your approximate location to determine your current elevation and automatically adjust temperature calculations. This is the core scientific function of the app.
Location data is used exclusively on your device for altitude calculation. It is never transmitted to our servers, never stored persistently beyond the current session, and never used for advertising, tracking, or any purpose other than temperature correction.
You may deny location permission at any time in your iOS Settings. The app will continue to function with default sea-level calculations.
Location access uses iOS "While Using the App" permission level — background location is never requested.
Push Notifications
Sweetive may request permission to send push notifications for:

Notifications are managed through OneSignal, a third-party notification service. When you enable notifications, your device's push token is registered with OneSignal. We do not share any additional personal information with OneSignal beyond the push token and basic app identifiers.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Sweetive.
Analytics & Tracking
Sweetive does not use any advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or behavioral analytics tools. We do not track your activity inside the app for advertising purposes.
We may collect anonymous, aggregated crash reports to identify technical issues. These reports contain no personally identifiable information — only device model, iOS version, and the code location of the crash.
Sweetive complies with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We do not request tracking permission because we do not track users across apps or websites.

We do not integrate with Facebook, Google Analytics, Firebase, Adjust, or any other advertising or analytics SDK.
Data Storage & Security
All user preferences and calculation history are stored exclusively on your device using iOS-native storage (UserDefaults and CoreData). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use iCloud backup, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
The update check endpoint (sweetive.cloud/api/sync) receives only your app version, bundle identifier, and push token. All communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
We retain server-side data for a maximum of 90 days for debugging purposes. No personal data is retained after account deletion or app uninstall.

Children's Privacy
Sweetive is a professional tool intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through a push notification (if you have enabled them) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
Continued use of Sweetive after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
